Pass ICDL easily

What do you need to do to pass ICDL?

ICDL exams are not easy. Last year 36% of UNISA students writing ICDL in Newcastle failed.

If you study properly for ICDL exams you can pass them. You need to learn that ICDL exams are different to normal exams and you need to learn to pass them.

The exams

The exams consist of 7 modules; you need to pass each module with 75%. If an exam has 36 questions, you need to answer 27 questions correctly. This means that you have to know the content of the exam quiet well.

Fortunately some parts of the ICDL syllabus are repeated in each module. Things like saving a document, printing, saving templates, formatting, page setup, task switching, and copy/ paste operations are fairly similar in all Microsoft Office applications. Master these skills and you stand a good chance of passing your exams.

A full list of skills that you need to pass ICDL is available on the ICDL website. Before you write the exams, have a look at these skills and make sure you know how to do each one. The exam questions can only come from these skills. There should be no surprises for anyone.

Practice makes perfect

The exams ask practical questions. You have to be able to do certain things. The best way to study is thus to practice and practice until you know how to do something.

Most vendors have many questions included in their courseware. Computer Skills for Africa has a High School Curriculum with many different and challenging exercises taken from the ICDL syllabus. The more questions you can answer the better the chances that you can pass your ICDL exam.

Workshops

Computer Skills for Africa offers you the chance to attend a workshop on any ICDL module before you write the exams. These workshops are held in Newcastle on the last Saturday of every month. The cost for attending is R350.

Expert help and many different exercises are available. The learners are encouraged to practice. Sample tests and questions are given and feedback for those questions is supplied throughout by our professional and friendly staff.

If you want to pass the ICDL exams practice as many tasks as you can get your hands on. Enjoy the experience. Learn how to do everyday tasks more productively. You may even find that you can use your computer to do things you previously found very hard to do.

Good luck for the exams!
