Computer Skills for Africa Curriculum
There are 2 levels of the curriculum Computer Skills for Africa (CS4A): CS4A for Primary School (grade 1–7), and CS4A for High School (grade 8–12). Both are intended for use in schools within an outcomes-based system of education (OBE), focusing on the learner achieving clearly defined outcomes and all activities are based on real-life situations. Everything is done on computer, there are no paper based activities or assessments.
CS4A for Primary School aims to make learners from grade 1 to 7 comfortable and confident with the equipment and the software, while showing them many exciting possibilities and encouraging their creativity. There are 35 lessons per grade, using content from all national curriculum learning areas.
High School learners receive stimulating printed worksheets with step-by-step instructions and clear screenshots. While the learner works through them, they get to know how the programs work, and all skills for ICDL are covered. An excellent introduction before attempting CAT or IT!
