Paint Competition

IETS / CS4A held a competition last year with most of the schools in Newcastle. The competition was aimed at children between Grade 6 and 7 and they had to use a PC to design a graphical ‘gizmo’ using a PC. The teachers at the various schools decided who won and in the end there were 6 winners. They were: Avaan Beharie, Adelle Sentoo, Juvika Bansipersadh, Samantha van der Vaart, Shaun Mkhonza and Shuaib Randeree.
On 19 June 2008 the 6 finalists came to IETS / CS4A, located in 18 Harding Street, for the finals. The rules were the same as before except that this time the child who won first place would also get a free ICDL scholarship. Three judges, Camille Haniball, Ronelle Ness and Lindiwe Mbatha were invited to judge the pictures. Everyone was treated to hot chocolate, marshmallows and a children’s movie before the competition.
